Gypsy Jazz”…this name elicits an immediate vision of Django Reinhardt (1910-1953), one of the greatest performers of jazz – a virtually illiterate, nomadic Gypsy by birth, who despite a severe handicap which left him with only two usable fingers on his left hand, made the guitar a viable solo voice in jazz music and is considered to be among the greatest jazz musicians who ever lived.

The Djangomatics are a quartet (two acoustic guitars, violin, and an upright bass) who draw their inspiration from the musical legacy of Django Reinhardt.  We perform the Gypsy style swing jazz of Django Reinhardt as well as Latin, Klezmer, and French musette.  Our wide repertoire and experience enable us to perform in a variety of settings, ranging from intimate dinner music to high energy stage performances.
